Multi-Country Project Hiring

Hiring for Multiple Projects Across ASEAN, Through One Partner

Energy, data centre and engineering projects rarely sit inside one border. SCG Partners coordinate permanent, contract and project-team hiring across Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines — one standard, one conversation, every market.

The Problem With Hiring Country by Country

A developer building solar in Vietnam, a data centre in Johor and a grid programme in Indonesia does not have three hiring problems. It has one hiring problem expressed in three markets.

Treating each country as a separate recruitment exercise means duplicated briefs, inconsistent assessment and no one with a view of the whole programme. The result is slow mobilisation at exactly the point the schedule cannot absorb it.

What Makes Regional Hiring Difficult

Several Markets, One Programme

Each country has its own talent pool, salary expectations and hiring pace. Coordinating five local recruiters rarely produces one coherent team — it produces five sets of standards and five invoices.

Phases, Not Headcounts

Projects mobilise and demobilise. The team that wins the work is not the team that commissions it, and the team that commissions it is not the team that operates it. Hiring has to follow the programme, not the org chart.

Scarce People, Moving Between Countries

The professionals who have actually delivered comparable projects in the region are few, known to us, and often open to moving between ASEAN markets for the right project. Reaching them requires a regional picture, not a national one.

How We Work Across Borders

One Accountable Partner

A single team runs your searches across every market, so shortlists are calibrated against the same standard and you have one conversation rather than five.

Permanent and Contract in One Engagement

Build and commissioning phases often suit contract specialists while the operating entity needs permanent leadership. We phase both around your milestones rather than treating them as separate transactions.

Mobilisation and Demobilisation

We plan hiring around the project lifecycle: founding teams for new markets, surge capacity for delivery peaks, and honest advice on scaling down between phases.

Regional Talent Intelligence

Because we work across energy, data centres and engineering simultaneously, we can tell you where the people you need actually sit — and which market to hire them from when the local pool is thin.

Questions Hiring Managers Ask

We are headquartered outside ASEAN. Can you still support us?
Yes. A significant part of our work is for Western and European companies with a Singapore or regional footprint. Singapore is typically where their regional leadership sits, and we run searches from there into the project markets.
Do we have to use you in every country?
No. Some clients engage us for one market and expand; others start with a multi-country brief from the outset. We would rather cover the markets where we add value than insist on coverage for its own sake.
How do you handle work passes across different countries?
Work-eligibility is part of how we screen, particularly for hires moving between ASEAN markets. We flag pass realities early rather than at offer stage. We are not an immigration practice, but we ensure the candidates we put forward are realistic on eligibility.
How do fees work for multi-country engagements?
We keep fee structures off our website and confirm them in the first conversation. Multi-country and multi-hire engagements are structured around the shape of your programme rather than as isolated placements.
